Paint Brushes

As the weather cools down we’ll finally be able to start on all of those home renovation projects that we’re too taxing to tackle during the warm summer months. With the holidays rapidly approaching those renovation projects may include an extension of your main living spaces, with that in mind we’re sharing our tips for expanding on different living areas inside and outside your home.

Subtle Changes

Sometimes you don’t need a demolition crew, it can be as simple as breathing new life into unused rooms with minimal upgrades. Take that formal living room for example, how many times a year does it actually get used? Typically the furniture in these rooms are a bit stuffy and very stiff from lack of use. Put these spaces to good use and upgrade to a living room set that is both stylish and functional. That way you can spread the family outcome Thanksgiving or just give family members more rooms to hang out in while at home. A great option is our Tabby Brown living room, the sectional is large and will fit families of all sizes. Not to mention it looks great!

Brown Sectional

From a design standpoint, aim to keep things light as this will keep the space from looking too closed in. So roll up your sleeves and grab a paint brush, this will be the easiest and most cost effective way to renovate a space. In that same vein- tis the season to update lighting fixtures in your home. Not only is this something you should be doing this time of year anyway, but it’s also great for warming up a room in the winter months and who want’s to be changing light bulbs with a house full of people, are we right?

In the event that your formal dining room and formal living room make up one space jump for joy immediately. This is a great situation to be in because it offers up so many options. You could fill the room with oversized furniture pieces, create multiple seating arrangements or even upgrade your dining situation to a bigger table that will accompany all of the guests you plan on hosting now through the New Year. Are you excited yet?

Turning the Inside Out

When it comes to your outside spaces, for those of us who live in more mild areas think about your deck area. You could bring in a fire pit and take your guests outside and under the stars. One way to increase the value of your home is to add a built-in fire pit and entertainment area. Exterior architectural elements can be designed in all shapes and sizes that can complement your home. You’ll also have the ability to build in ample seating around your fire pit. It makes great use of an outdoor space on chilly nights.

One of the most common home additions are the ones that attach to the back of the existing house, but what if you looked at it from a different perspective? Let your home flow seamlessly into your yard. You may not need to do too much either, new doors can lead to a new outdoor room complete with comfortable furniture. Our Modesto loveseat is a great blend of comfort and durability making it the perfect addition to an outdoor living area.
