Designer Series: In Living Neutral with Style It Studio
Styling in moderation is a key element in design. It creates flow and balance in a space where design provides a soothing environment for the people in the room. As much as we love bright, bold hues and other trending electric colors, there is a special place in our hearts for neutral-hued spaces.
We invited home stager and interior designer McKenna Lavin of @styleitstudio.mckenna to transform two of our staple collection sets and show different ways to achieve a neutral space rich in multi-dimensional color.
The Plan
McKenna takes two of our popular neutral sets and gives them her stylish flair.
The Prep
Combine collections with in-store furniture accents, studio props, and McKenna's own accent pieces.
Challenge Two: Miami Dining Set
The Heart of the Home
McKenna’s second set was the Miami Dining in White. A kitchen with a neutral palette make the food and people in the space look gorgeous making it the most busy and loved room. She started by creating a beautiful tablescape using her own dining accent pieces with hues of whites, grays, browns and plants (always). As contrast, McKenna chose the Aurora 6 Door Console in Gray for its warm wood tones, glass-front drawers and subtle rich metal finish accented with earthy decor and a potted plant. To complete the look, she put up sheen on the walls by way of gold accents providing the pop the room needed.
Check out McKenna's style inspirations for these 2 sets and more behind-the-scenes fun on her blog.
