From fashion design to interiors, Lauren Saylor’s creative evolution is a testament to the power of following your passion. As the founder of A Fabulous Fete, Lauren has built a brand that celebrates intentional living, personal style, and the beauty of home.
A Creative Path Rooted in Design
Lauren began her career in fashion design, but quickly realized the corporate world wasn’t the right fit. She pivoted to entrepreneurship, launching a wedding stationery business and a lifestyle blog. As she renovated her own home and shared the process online, her audience grew—and so did her love for interiors.
During the pandemic, Lauren shifted her focus fully to home design, partnering with a realtor friend to style Airbnbs and help homeowners prepare their properties for the rental market. Today, she offers virtual consultations, interior design services, and content that inspires others to create spaces they love.

Why Mor Furniture?
Lauren is drawn to Mor Furniture for its versatility. “Many large furniture stores have a single, recognizable aesthetic,” she says, “but with Mor, I can mix and match pieces to create a layered, personal look.” She loves combining clean-lined modern sofas with classic or bohemian accents to create spaces that feel uniquely lived-in.

Lauren’s design process begins with understanding how the space will be used—whether it’s for entertaining, relaxing, or accommodating kids and pets. She starts with a color palette and foundational furniture pieces, then builds in layers of accent tables, lighting, and decor. The final touch includes curtains, throw pillows, plants, and personal items that bring warmth and personality.

In the bedroom, Lauren focuses on creating a sanctuary. She starts with the Melbourne Canopy bed as the focal point and builds a soothing palette around it. Natural materials like wood, marble, and stone add an organic feel, while layered lighting and thoughtful textiles keep the space functional and serene.

Her Signature Style
Lauren describes her aesthetic as “warm modern organic”—a blend of clean lines, neutral tones, and rich textures. Her spaces are designed to be functional yet deeply personal, reflecting the homeowner’s story and style.
Trends & Tips
One trend Lauren finds exciting is the rise of slow design—a movement toward curated, meaningful interiors filled with thrifted, DIY, or inherited pieces. Her favorite design hack? Lamps. “Overhead lighting is great for tasks, but lamps create warmth and make a space feel inviting. Updating a lampshade is an easy, low-cost way to add personality.”
Advice for First-Time Renovators
Lauren’s advice is to start with a clear vision of how you want the space to feel. Avoid designing solely for trends, and invest in timeless finishes for big-ticket items. She also recommends making a list of must-haves vs. nice-to-haves to stay focused and budget-conscious.
