Cozy, Comfy and Clean: Tips for Cleaning Your Leather Recliner
Leather is a natural material. Follow these steps, and you can maintain the look and feel of your fine leather furniture for many years:
- Don't place your furniture near a heat source. Make sure that there is a minimum of about a foot between your furniture and the heat source.
- Protect your furniture from direct sunlight.
- Don't expose to abrasive cleaners, powdered products, stain removers, solvents, turpentine or shoe polish.
- Avoid strong rubbing.
Cleaning Tips
- Dust Regularly.
- Dusting at regular intervals with a soft, dry cloth. Vacuum occasionally with the soft upholstery attachment.
- Use a Damp Cloth Occasionally.
- A clean, damp cloth or sponge may be used for soil not removed by dusting.
Spots & Spills
- Wipe up excessive liquid immediately with a clean cloth or sponge. If necessary, use clean lukewarm water and let the leather air dry.
Stubborn Spots & Spills
- Apply a mild non-detergent soap solution with a clean, wet sponge. Rinse well and let air dry.
Oil, Butter, Grease
- Wipe the leather with a clean, dry cloth and let the remainder of the oil dissipate into the leather. Do not apply water or try to wash a grease spot.
