Glider Recliners are similar to rocker recliners, except that instead of moving along an arched path similar to a rocking chair, they move forward and backward on a linear path.

This style of recliner is the new hot style due to it's sleek look. The lack of a button or a lever allows these recliners to look like a regular armchair when not in the reclined position.

Lift recliners are popular with the elderly and those who have difficulty getting out of a deeper recliner. The lift mechanism pushes the chair from a flat seated position to a more upright angled position that guides the occupant into the standing position. Lift recliners are often recommended by physicians to those who have trouble with weak knees, legs or hips.
8. Wall-Hugger Recliner
Wall-hugger recliners are a huge favorite among those looking to conserve space. Wall-hugger recliners sit up straighter and therefore can be pressed directly up against a wall, using far less space. They also often have a more limited range of motion, and a resting position that is easier to get in and out of.
