Designer Series: Crafting Spaces with Personality featuring @hightide.design
Kira Young, a certified interior designer, and Melissa Means, with a degree in interior design, bring a wealth of experience to High Tide Design. From commercial projects like resident clubhouses to cozy one-room makeovers, their backgrounds span various design fields. Kira's focus is on residential spaces, while Melissa specializes in conceptual design and technical drawings, extending her virtual assistance globally.
The duo starts by conceptualizing the overall feeling they want a space to evoke. For this project, they aimed for an inviting living room and a peacefully surprising bedroom. Their signature style involves seamlessly blending classic and contemporary elements, like a farmhouse-style buffet paired with a modern sectional sofa, creating timeless yet unique spaces.
The Plan
To achieve both designs, the following two products were styled using a blend of in-store furniture accents, studio props, and High Tide Design’s own accent pieces.
Room #1: Surf's Up
The Result:
In the living room, the color palette is inspired by nature, with the Optimus Reversible Sofa Chaise in Britt Moss as the focal point. The design was inspired by bringing nature indoors. The color palette features sage green and medium brown. Wood tones, leather, and black accents create a harmonious blend. The Optimus Reversible Sofa Chaise stands out not only for its beauty but also for its comfort. Deep seat cushions make it the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
Room #2: Calm & Timeless
For the bedroom, a mix of modern and traditional elements, like the Chloe Upholstered Panel Bed, results in a cohesive design with a touch of surprise. Their choice of neutrals with pops of color adds personality to each space. Their enduring love for pairing neutrals creates a timeless yet modern look. They're not afraid to introduce pops of color to add vibrancy to their designs. A bedroom styling tip from the duo is to select calming colors and timeless furniture as a foundation. Invest in quality statement pieces like the bed frame, adding personal touches gradually, and prioritize good lighting with warm tones for an inviting atmosphere. The classic and timeless design of the Chloe bed frame, coupled with trendy boucle upholstery, makes it a versatile statement piece for any bedroom.
