Designer Series: Embrace the Laid-Back Tropical Boho Style with @tropicali_haven
Our May 2023 designer series collaboration takes us for a walk on the bright side with Sara Caligiuri! We were instantly captured by her unique and playful style and couldn’t wait to have her spend a day in the studio with us. As a San Diego local she draws inspiration from the beach but also from her many travels which can be seen reflected in her love of Palm Springs, Hawaii, Bali and a touch of Miami heat. Her unique style gave an entirely new twist on some of our favorite Mor Furniture pieces.

To achieve her designs, these two products were styled with a blend of in-store furniture accents, studio props, and Sarah’s own accent pieces.
Room #1: Vibrant, Eclectic, and Comfortable
The Result:
At first glance the Ensenada Reversible Sofa Chaise seems like a traditional piece, but Sarah showed us just how much fun it can be to put together a unique room by adding colorful touches. By incorporating a visually tropical theme, she was able to incorporate so much color into her design. Her pro tip is not to shy away from color as it’s the key to an instant mood booster. She paired the sofa with the Pasadena Accent Chair for a base color contrast, then added the Icon Round Coffee Table. Sarah had no fear to be bold as she incorporates new and vintage pieces into her design. She loves family heirlooms to add a personal touch to any space. She played up on her room design with accent choices like the Taliya Floor Lamp, the Capiz Drum Accent Table and Hannela Large Vase. She accompanied with gold accents in the Kailman Bar Cart, Dumi Wall Sconce and the Posy Tray and told us that the metal helps to add a chic vibe to any space.
Room #2: Beachy Boho Bedroom
The bedroom aesthetic created by Sarah was incredible! She designed the Melbourne Canopy bedroom collection with the focal piece being the canopy bed. Since her designs are routed in a bright pallet and she encourages layering bedding with big accent pillows and chunky throws. According to Sarah, bedrooms are supposed to feel like a safe haven and inspire you. By draping fabric over the canopy of the bed, she was able to incorporate even more color and texture into the space. She also recommends a seating area if you have the space as it’s another opportunity to add comfort as pops of color in a warm, inviting way. Keeping with her gold chic advice, she added the Efharis Wall Shelves and the Arlomore Table Lamp. She recommends sticking with a pallet of your favorite colors and using them fearlessly.
