Designer Series: Farmhouse Modern with @heathermiinch
Our latest designer, Heather Miinch, couldn’t have been a more impressive force in our studio. When asked where she gets her inspiration from for her modern farmhouse style, it’s all a matter of family. Heather first came on our radar when she posted her latest family pictures and tagged the different vendors she uses with the furniture pieces in the background. Seeing our Mor Furniture sectional styled beautifully in her home was incredible. She takes a very personal touch to her home design after completing a full renovation of her home. It’s also personal since her inspiration to get deeper into home design came from her family’s business. Her in-laws have a contracting company, and her mother-in-law does some informal design for them. Heather notes that even though their styles are different, she was very much drawn to the process of creating beautiful spaces. Many of her followers are interested in family-based content. Heather loves to make everything an event, from trips to the park to special valentine’s dinners for her boys. We noticed right away that Heather was decisive in her design choices and wouldn’t settle for mediocre and it’s certainly reflected in the rooms she styled!
Main Products Styled
To achieve her designs, these two products were styled with a blend of in-store furniture accents, studio props, and Heather's own accent pieces.
Room Design #2: Somerset Dining Set
Heather gave us an amazing take on our Somerset Dining Table with matching dining chairs. Her unique style lent well to this collection as she paired it with unique accent pieces to make it pop. The Artisans Media Console would usually be reserved for a living room or office space, but it paired beautifully with her design. Heather’s advice: don’t be limited to what furniture is supposed to do! She accented the rest of the room with a variety of accessories including the Hannela Vase in small and large, Moises Bowl in Brown and the Jolina Boxes in Linen and gave a nod to her farmhouse inspiration with the Pancho Bull wall art. Lastly, no dining area would be complete without lighting, so she chooses the Joziah Pendant Lamp to illuminate her final creation.
