Bar Stools & Counter Stools for the Heart of Your Home

The kitchen counter is where homework gets done, coffee gets poured and friends linger while dinner cooks. The right bar stools make that spot a place people want to stay. Find barstools and counter stools in modern, farmhouse and industrial styles, sold one at a time or in bar stool sets of 2, 3 and 4 so everyone gets a seat.

A quick measurement saves a return trip. Most kitchen counters stand about 36 inches high and pair with counter height stools, while taller bars and pub tables around 42 inches call for high bar height stools. Between sizes? Adjustable bar stools raise and lower to fit. Swivel bar stools turn easily toward the stove, the TV or a friend across the island, backless stools tuck neatly under the counter in smaller kitchens, and upholstered stools with supportive backs make long brunches feel effortless.

Black bar stools with metal frames bring a modern edge, warm wood and woven seats feel relaxed and farmhouse-ready, and wipe-clean faux leather stands up to sticky fingers. Coordinate your stools with dining chairs so your dining room stools and seating feel like one collection, then pair them with a counter height dining set, a bar table or a bar cart for easy entertaining.
